My ability to paint is a sheer, raw talent. As an artist, I have zero background in education or training. In January, 2021, I was inspired to pick up the brushes after a long spell of very little creativity. The times were sad and very much uncertain but it was much abrupt, the discovery of my talent, I began producing portraits at a very rapid pace, each one displaying greater detail than the last. My evolution, as a painter, continues to progress at an exponential rate. I decided by the month of September that I was producing, to my own standard, professional grade works of art, and began planning the launch of my own personal brand and studio. It was a success! By the month of December my domain was reserved and my business was registered. By January 3, 2022, my first online store was launched and my first sales were made. Things were looking pretty good except for one thing: my bottom line didn’t seem big enough for the amount of hustle, I put forth.
Upon taking a closer look at the hours spent marketing my product online, versus, the cut that [third party seller] was taking from my bottom line, it seemed criminal for [third party seller] to be making that much, just for me to maintain a shelf. Sales on [third party seller] provided my customers with standard shipping options and nothing faster, tracked, or insured. Payment options were limited; my customers deserve better. I deserve better.
It was time to decorate my little corner with a pretty little web. A web of my own to captivate my audience and, so, the threads were spun.
I look forward to continuing in this direction, using my creator skills on social media to market my brand and studio, and using my website, help other artists do the same.
